Precision machining is a process in which the external dimensions or properties of workpieces are changed by processing machinery.  According to the temperature state of the workpiece to be processed, it can be divided into cold machining and hot machining when it is in operation. Generally, it is processed at normal temperature and does not cause chemical or phase changes of workpieces, which is called cold working. Precision  is generally processed above or below normal temperature, which will directly cause chemical or phase changes of workpieces and is called thermal precision machining. Cold machining can be divided into cutting and pressure machining according to the difference of machining methods. Thermal Processing commonly includes heat treatment, forging, casting and welding. The first is the requirement on the hardness of the material.  For some occasions, the higher the hardness of the material, the better.  It is only limited to the hardness requirement of the processed parts.  The processed material cannot be too hard, if it is harder than the parts, it cannot be processed. Benchmark first: when using mechanical equipment to process products, a datum plane must be determined, so that there can be a positioning reference in subsequent processing.  After determining the datum plane, then the datum plane must be processed first. In precision mechanical parts, many workpieces are not produced at one time, but when the workpieces are produced, they are just a rough model.
